When the pot pie only had about 15 minutes left to bake, I realized that I wanted something for dessert. I settled on fried apples. I still had 5 of those Melrose apples left from making my French Apple pie.
Fried Apples
Ingredients:
5 baking apples, peeled and sliced
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
Preparation:Melt butter in a heavy skillet over medium-low heat. Add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Sauté 15 to 20 minutes, or until apples are tender.

Not only were they good ending to my dinner, the were excellent reheated atop of our toaster waffles this morning.
