Meal Plan 11/2- 11/8

This week I'm recycling meals already featured on Krista's Kitchen on the meal plan. No grocery list, recipes are included on each link. With the meal plan on "auto-pilot", this blog is about to get a serious sweet tooth. Remember our apple picking excursion a little over a week ago? Well, I've gotta use up all of those apples! So this week I'll post recipes for Apple Cider Fritters (and Pumpkin Spice Donuts), French Apple Pie, (my) Grandma's Apple Dumplings, and if I find the time...Caramel Apple Pound Cake. As I type this, "The Apple Song" is playing in my head. When I was in elementary school they'd cover our gymnasium floor with a giant tarp, line up the chairs from our desks, set up a big Da-Lite projection screen, roll in the popcorn popper, and play Disney movies on holidays and special occasions for all of the 100 kids at my school. (Yes, it was a public school. Although it was closed when the school system consolidated some of the small schools in the district years ago.) One of my favorite Disney "shorts" that preceded those movies was Johnny Appleseed, in which Johnny's guardian angel sings:

"The Apple Song"

There's apple pickles
Oh so tasty
Apple tarts and apple pastry
Apple dumplings, not to mention
Apple sass?
Yes and there's apple fritters
Light as thistle
And for folks to wet their whistle
Tangy apple cider, my lad

Stew 'em, fry 'em, boil 'em, bake 'em
Apple pie and apple cake'm
Yep, you can cook 'em any way

Apple this and apple that
The recipes would fill your hat
Why I could carry on like this all day

Oh, pack your stuff and get a-goin'
Get them apple trees a growin'
There's a lot of work out there to do
There's a lot of work to do.

If you've never seen this sweet lil' movie you can watch it here on YouTube.

Okay, enough on apples (for today), here's the meal plan:

Monday November 2nd

Crock Pot Roast or Texas Beef BBQ

Tuesday November 2nd

Rustic Tortellini Soup

Wednesday November 3rd

Easy Chicken Pot Pie

Thursday November 4th

Beef Stir Fry or Cashew Chicken

Friday November 6th

Pizza

Saturday November 7th and Sunday November 8th

Girl's Weekend! Out of town.

Have a wonderful week everyone!
